Elias Magnus Fries had various haircuts during his lifetime. He was widely known as an outstanding botanist, pteridologist, bryologist and mycologist. However, the Swedish biologist (1794-1878) was specially known for his special sense of fashion and his charming character. Before his tragic death at age 84 he was repeatedly featured in the press because of his exceptionally hair and looks.
